Description/Descripción:
This is a milestone painting
in the developing of my current drip and palette knife painting style and
the result of many experiments on smaller scale on what I call a sketching
process (I often experiment techniques on smaller works that I later apply
to larger works).
In this painting, dripping,
where I often thin heavy textures by applying water and where I collaborate
with gravitational forces, is not so apparent and was applied on the
background to create a stark contrast with the heavy texture, applied with a
palette knife, of the foreground. This contrast in texture, color and tone
(between the background and a much lighter foreground) gives more solidity
to the lighter elements and creates a sense of space within the painting
where Light becomes its most solid Element. In this way, the emphasis is
given on the light rays that conceal the more mysterious dark side of night.
Yes, we call it Moonlight
but we all know that the moon acts as a mirror to the sun and “Moonlight” is
in mainly “Sunlight” and “Starlight” that keep illuminating us during
nighttime.

Poscards from the Heart with Love Grapevine Series
http://xoanxocespon.wix.com/postcardsbyxoanxo#!originals/c22j5
Description/Descripción:
Grapevine Line is actually more than a triptych in the sense it is a piece
that incorporates 3 individual pieces (also signed individually). This work
belongs to a concept that originated in my sketching practices that I have
called “Postcards from the Heart with Love”. This combination proposal
includes “Line series 8” + “Grapevine Series 2 + “Line Series 5”.
This work brings together some different tendencies and styles,
semiabstract-figurative and abstract-minimalist elements are here
harmoniously combined. The tonal range and mixture of geometric lines with
natural curves blend softly to provide a rather Zen and Peaceful visual
experience. This is one of my most decorative styles and while it may not be
a piece to spend hours looking at it, every view is like a soothing a
peaceful breath which makes it the perfect work for a passing place, a
corridor, flight of stairs...
As the straight geometric lines made by man and the curvy lines of nature
are brought together, one could say “Man and Nature together in one
piece”!!!
prácticas de boceto que he llamado “Postcards from the Heart with Love”.

Title/Título: Let The Sunshine In 5

Original Price/Precio Original: € 675

Markplaats ó por e-mail
Description/Descripción:
“Let the Sunshine In 5” is the last and smallest of a series of paintings
inspired by the song of the same title by “Aquarius” from the musical
“Hair”. I created this series to coincide with the official opening of my
Studio-Gallery in Hoofddorp (The Netherlands) and with a particular
intention in mind. My technique of dripping and palette painting allows me
to establish a collaboration of my intentions with elements out of my
control in a spontaneous yet controlled way. Heavy application of paint is
thinned at places with water creating rich and varied textures. I was
looking for a colorful expression of subtle movement and visual experience
where the brighter colors would clearly and finally overwhelm the darker
more somber tones and as a final piece of the series, where the sunshine is
finally let in.

Title/Título: Coloured Wall
Medium/Medio: Acrylic and chalk on Paper / Acrílico y tiza en papel

Original Price/Precio Original: € 395
To bid please visit of the events at Facebook, Google+, Markplaats or by
e-mail.

Description/Descripción:
“Colored wall” belongs to the series “Walls” where I used an own
experimental technique. This technique consists of applying a thick back
layer of acrylic (often monochrome) where I incrust dust and lumps of
colored chalk. For this painting, as a continue experiment I applied on top
of the chalk a new color layer of acrylic. I find the textures of weathered
wall fascinating, some of them make wonderful abstract images and I realize
they greatly influence my work. For this piece, contrary to most of the
works from the “Walls series” I wanted to combine it with strong colors that
I am more likely to use on my drip and palette paintings and bring both
techniques together. This is another step in developing my own technique and
I admit I am very pleased with the results in “Colored Wall”.
influencia my trabajo de forma considerable.
Wall”

Title/Título: Symbol Colours
Medium/Medio:
Oil on canvas / Óleo sobre lienzo
Sizes/Tamaño:
100 x 80 cm

Original
Price/Precio Original: € 1200

Description/Descripción:
“Symbol Colours” is the only Oil painting offered at this “Silent Auction”.
This is the first and yet only oil painting where I have tried my palette
painting technique (in this case combined with brush) that I have developed
with acrylics. I now aim to add and combine it with dripping for oils. For
this painting I did an initial sketch, I don’t always do that with my works
and sometimes I only use it as a starting point, as I do enjoy establishing
a dialogue with the painting and make adjustments as the works develops,
rather than impose the initial idea. I did not make any adjustments to this
painting and the composition is exactly as I sketched it. The following day,
showing the result to a colleague, she pointed out I had used the Dutch flag
colours and that even included their Royal Colour (Orange). Well, I can say
that it was certainly not intentional and somehow after living in The
Netherlands for 11 Years, and considering their love for flags and their
colours, I am not surprised it played an important role in my subconscious.
subconsciente.
